Luis A. Tapia, Founder of American Boxing Promotions
Luis A. Tapia is a premier professional boxing trainer and manager operating out of the world-renowned Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas. With a career spanning decades in the sport, Tapia is best known for his legendary partnership with eight-time world champion Layla “Amazing” McCarter, whom he guided from an underdog beginning to global recognition while helping lead the historic push for 12-round women’s championship bouts in Nevada.
A respected veteran of boxing’s elite circuit, Tapia has also served as head trainer for WBA Heavyweight Champion Ruslan Chagaev and Olympic gold medalist Muhammad Abdullaev. Formerly representing The Money Team (TMT), Tapia continues to develop top-tier talent, including heavyweight contender Maurice Shaw, bringing decades of technical expertise and championship-level strategy to every corner he works.
